Jacque Jones connected with a 'big fly' and had 2 RBI as the Detroit Iron
Gloves defeated the Enterprise Trekkers in 10 innings by a score of 8 to 7 at
the ballpark.
Both teams were tied at 7 runs apiece after nine innings. Detroit came out the
victor in the 10th inning. Jones slapped a one-base hit. After an out was
recorded, Tino Martinez stepped up to the plate and he laced a base-hit. Dan
Kolb then threw a high and inside pitch that got by the catcher; it was ruled
a passed ball making Detroit victorious to the delight of the the home town
crowd. A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 6 times.
Brian Shouse(3-0) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Juan Cruz(0-1) was charged with the loss in relief. He was pinned with the
loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 2 and 1/3 innings of work.
